Virtual Field Trip

VFT: Nevada’s Molten Past: Volcanos, Rocks, and Minerals around the State

Come join the Nevada Science Center Team as they visit one of Nevada’s prehistoric volcanos that can be seen throughout Nevada. Nevada’s complex geologic past was explosive millions of years ago, and remnants left behind from these volcanos are still visible today. From old cinder cones, rocks, and minerals that are found across the state give scientists clues about the past, and curious rockhounders an awesome rock collection. Come learn about different volcanos, the rock cycle,
and how minerals are formed.

Thank you Ralph Krauss from Edutainment Learning for co-organizing, moderating, and video editing.
